In 2015, 65.3 million people were displaced from their countries, seeking asylum or refuge; These people are vulnerable to abuse and any kind of violence;
That is why the United States Embassy in Mexico and Mukira organized the United Nations Summit simulation focusing on the refugee crisis.
Students from high schools and universities with a high level of English and experience in United Nations models were invited to participate in the model in order to develop negotiation skills and held face global challenges; As well as to propose innovative solutions to the refugee crisis.
This project was focused on preparing young leaders to replicate the model of the United Nations in their schools.
The United Nations model was held on December 9 and 10 in Mexico City; 61 young high school and universities students from the center / south of the country participated.
