Model United Nations Summit Simulation on the Refugee Crisis

The Model UN Summit on the Refugee Crisis was organized by the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City in collaboration with Mukira on December 9 and 10 in Mexico City. This summit gathered over 70 high school and university students from different Mexican states to raise awareness about the refugee crisis in the world. Day one, experts from the U.S. and Mexico provided background on the crisis and addressed technical aspects of UN simulations. And during the second day a simulation was held with different committees and entirely in English. After this summit, each participant replicated a refugee themed MUN simulation in their schools.

In 2017, delegates from the Summit organized 23 MUNs in their schools and communities centered on the Refugee Crisis.
